MISOLIMA eCharlie U2R-RJ uses DOLLx8 Dataport pin layout that connects to "PC" port on any DOLLx8 enabled device with standard RJ-45 network cable.

Most computers today has only USB ports to connect external devices onto and so often there is needs to connect RS-232 devices as well and that's where you will need MISOLIMA eCharlie U2R-RJ, a USB to RS-232 converter.

MISOLIMA eCharlie U2R Series is an RS-232 to USB converter that enables the use of RS-232 serial devices on a PC or Notebook with USB connection. eCharlie U2R comes in two versions and has both TTL RS-232 (order Charlie U2R-RJt) and full RS-232 leveled (order eCharlie U2R-RJf). Both versions has a 140cm USB cable with 4 pin USB Type A connector in one end and you can connect a standard RJ-45 network cable on the other end of the aluminium case.

In the MISOLIMA Series, all data communication is made via RJ-45 connector and standard LAN data cable and therefore requires the eCharlie R2U-RJf version unless the product is provided with direct USB cable.

RS-232 on RJ-45, EIA-561

Although not widely used, EIA defined a standard (EIA-561) for non-synchronous applications on the an 8 pin RJ-45 modular connector. By special order we can supply eCharlie U2R RJe based on EIA-561 specification but this would not be compatible with the DOLLx8 Dataport specifications.
